研究興趣與方向

傳統害蟲防治,長期以來皆以化學殺蟲劑為主,但在連續使用後往往造成農業生態系中,有益天敵死亡、次要害蟲崛起、主要害蟲再猖獗及蔬菜水果等農產品上之農藥殘毒,危害消費者健康及恐慌,並造成生態系的破壞。但在自然界常存在一些能使昆蟲生病之病原菌:如細菌性的蘇力菌(B.T.);真菌性的白殭菌、黑殭菌及綠殭菌等;病毒性之核多角體病毒(NPV)、及昆蟲寄生性線蟲,皆可造成特定之害蟲致死,但對哺乳類動物具安定性,本研究室即進行台灣本土田間昆蟲病原體採集測試、寄主篩選、大量繁殖技術、田間防治法之開發及利用,達到害蟲之安全有效防治。另外也參予生物多樣性調查及衛生害蟲如蚊、蠅、跳蚤及小黑蚊等相關研究,研發對環境友善之非藥劑防治技術。
